Amazon Fresh Store In Warrington To Close, Company Says

The company announced Tuesday that it will close all Amazon Fresh stores, including its three locations in Bucks County.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Amazon Fresh supermarket in Warrington is shutting its doors in the near future as the company prepares to exit the market as an online brand.

Amazon said Tuesday it is closing its Amazon Fresh and cashierless Go stores in Pennsylvania and nationwide, including two others in Bucks County in Bensalem and Oxford Valley.

Some closed Amazon Fresh and Amazon Go stores will be converted to Whole Foods Markets, the company said. It plans to open 100 new Whole Foods stores over the next few years.

The company did not say which of the Amazon Fresh locations could become Whole Foods Markets.

When it opened in 2021, the 35,000-square-foot Amazon Fresh store at the Creekview Center near Lowe's and Target was the company's first in Pennsylvania. It replaced a Giant store, which had been closed since 2013.
