LAHASKA, PA — Peddler's Village is celebrating the nation's 250th birthday with an "American Road Trip" featuring a summer-long display of giant sand sculptures.
"Sights In Sand: An American Road Trip," invites visitors to experience a cross-country journey in sand with a display of magnificent sculptures created by two world-renowned master sand sculpting teams: Team Sandtastic and John Gowdy and his wife Laura Cimador-Gowdy.
The village-wide display opens this week and continues though the end of August.
Each sculpture is dedicated to a region of the U.S. —Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, and West—and collages on each depict regional sights such as the Statue of Liberty, Kennedy Space Center, Mount Rushmore, Route 66, and the Golden Gate Bridge, among others, as well as animals, architecture, and American history scenes.

During the summer-long display, guests can pick up a “Road Trip Map” from the Visitor & Event Center to begin a self-guided educational scavenger hunt. Children who complete the scavenger hunt will receive a prize.
Guests 18 years or older are also invited to enter an overnight stay giveaway that includes a one-night stay at the Golden Plough Inn, the on-property inn at Peddler’s Village, breakfast for two, a $150 dining gift card, and passes to Mercer Museum as well as two history books: Hidden History of Bucks County by Jen Rogers and the Historic Sites and Bites Cookbook (from the Washington Crossing Historic Park gift shop). Each package is valued at approximately $500.
One prize will be awarded each month in June, July, and August. Online entries for the giveaways through PeddlersVillage.com will also be available beginning June 1.
