BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Buckingham Township Police Department announced on Wednesday afternoon that it is postponing National Night Out due to the weather.
"We're sorry to announce that, due to the weather, we've made the difficult decision to postpone our event," the police department posted. "The safety of our guests, staff, and participants is our top priority."
The event had been scheduled for Wednesday evening at Peddler's Village.
"We know many of you were looking forward to it, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause ... We hope to see you tomorrow at Peddler's Village."
National Night Out will now take place on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Peddler's Village.
The evening is promising to be "100 percent kid-friendly" with face painting, bounce house and foam party, giveaways galore, cool vehicles and meet-and-greets with first responders, and a Dunk Tank featuring the School Resource Officer in the "wet" seat.
The event is free and open to the public.
