BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Officials confirmed this past week what many already knew was inevitable. The Neshaminy Mall, a retail staple in Bucks County for years, will be closing its doors.
Meanwhile, Flagship Carwash opened its newest service center in New Britain Township. The Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce was on hand to officiate at a ribbon-cutting.
In other business news, a popular Bucks County orchard announced that while apple picking will be limited this year due to a late-season freeze, it will be bringing in apples from the outside and offering other market products and events to fill in the gaps.

A beloved Doylestown Borough store will celebrate its 20th year in business on Sunday, Sept. 20, and it's inviting everyone to join in the fun. Busy Bee Toys, an award-winning independently owned toy store located in the heart of downtown Doylestown, opened its doors two decades ago - a dream come true for owner Nerice Kendter. Nerice opened the store in 2006 after falling in love with several independent toy stores during a trip to Belgium. She took a leap of faith and opened Busy Bee Toys, hoping to bring the European toy store experience to her hometown of Doylestown.

The fall apple harvest at Solebury Orchard will look a lot different this year. Earlier this year, a freeze hit the Bucks County orchard hard, taking out most of its crops, including a major portion of its sought-after apples. "There are very few apples in the orchard, and at most times there will not be any apples to pick from the trees," the orchard posted on Facebook. "We are sourcing apples from New York orchards to stock our market and will have bins of apples in the orchard rows as a substitute."

Washington, D.C.-based Flagship Carwash has opened its latest high-tech carwash in Bucks County at 545 West Butler Avenue in New Britain Township. Officials with Flagship joined the leaders of the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce in cutting the ribbon on the new state-of-the-art facility, its newest in the Philadelphia area. Flagship is known for its high-tech soft-cloth automated tunnels for clean, dry, shiny and fast exterior washing and multiple options for interior cleaning.

The Neshaminy Mall — a staple of the Bucks County retail community for decades — will be closing, officials have announced. The Bucks County Redevelopment Authority is working with the mall's owners, Paramount Realty and Edgewood Properties, on a redevelopment plan for the site off Route 1 in Bensalem. "It's in the very early stages," said Kenneth Hayes, assistant treasurer and secretary of the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority. "We will assist in the redevelopment."

The Warminster Township-owned Five Ponds Golf Course off Street Road will soon see the construction of a new $25 million clubhouse. The township announced that Spirit Golf Management will undertake the new clubhouse construction project at Five Ponds Golf Club, one of the premier municipal golf facilities in the Philadelphia region.
