A major community revitalization project is underway on Easton Road, where local businessman Jim Lonergan is transforming the site of the 1776 Shopping Center at Route 611 and Edison Road into a state-of-the-art express car wash. After permitting the Doylestown Fire Company to use the vacant shopping center for practice drills, the demolition crews moved in and began tearing down the 13,000-square-foot shopping center to make way for a new Captain Clean Car Wash.
