Students from Lenape Middle School in Doylestown, Pa., donated $550 to Bucks County Housing Group for use in the Wheelz2Work program, a car donation program.
Students raised the funds through their “Lenape Idol” competition; a school wide entertainment show modeled after American Idol.
Students participate in a rigorous try out process vetted by a student team of judges who select those who perform. Teachers serve as judges during the actual Lenape Idol event.

Students expressed pride in using funds to support the community and to help homeless families. Wheelz2Work provides donated cars to homeless families in need of reliable transportation.
“We are very grateful to the students and staff at Lenape. Reliable transportation is so important for the families we serve.” said Melissa Mantz, BCHG Development Officer. “Going to work, school, in fact anywhere a parent needs to go, means having a car makes a big difference in reaching goals.”
