Argument Turns Physical, Police Make DUI Arrests: Plumstead Crime Report

In other crime reports, police arrested a woman for defiant trespassing; investigated several incidents of fraudulent activity.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between July 7 and July 11:

July 7

  • At 12:31 a.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Durham Road. The driver, a 40-year-old man from Lehighton, showed signs of impairment and was arrested for driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood alcohol results.
  • At 11:35 a.m., a Plumstead resident reported a case of fraud to police. The victim was scammed after clicking on an ad and receiving a phone call claiming their iPad was being hacked. The officer provided the victim with a victim's rights packet and advised them to block the caller and contact their bank.

  • At 9:24 a.m., officers responded to a vehicle accident on Old Easton Rd. Police said the driver admitted to taking prescription medication prior to the accident and showed signs of impairment. Charges are pending chemical test results.
  • At 9:10 p.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Lexington Dr. A 35-year-old woman from Warrington, was arrested for defiant trespassing after refusing to leave the property despite being told to do so earlier in the day. She was released on bail with bail conditions.

July 10

  • At 11:46 a.m., officers responded to a domestic assault on Hearthstone Dr. The victim reported a verbal argument that turned physical, resulting in injuries to her face. The suspect left prior to police arrival, and an arrest warrant has been issued. The case remains under investigation.
  • At 7:58 p.m., a Plumstead resident reported an incident of fraud to the police department. The victim received calls from unknown individuals claiming to be from the FBI and a local police department, requesting money and personal information. Officers provided the victim with an identity theft packet and victim's rights packet and advised them to contact their bank.
  • At 11 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Swamp Road after a license plate reader alerted them to a registration violation. The driver, a 31-year-old man from Mertztown, showed signs of impairment and was arrested for driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood alcohol results.

  • At 1:52 a.m., officers patrolling Easton Road noticed a vehicle traveling at a slower speed than the speed limit. The driver, a 68-year-old man, showed signs of impairment and was arrested for driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood test results.
