Arrest Made In Rt. 611 Hit-And-Run Crash

Authorities have charged a 38-year-old man after a hit-and-run crash on Rt. 611 that injured one.

TINICUM TOWNSHIP, PA — Authorities have charged a 38-year-old Pipersville man in connection with a hit-and-run crash that happened Monday evening on Rt. 611.

Justin William Simpson has been charged after Tinicum Township Police said he left the scene of a two-car crash that injured one. Simpson was unlicensed and operating the vehicle without a required ignition interlock, according to court documents.

The crash happened on Rt. 611 at Tohickon Valley Road. A black Volkswagon Passat heading north collided with a white Honda CRV going in the opposite direction, police said.

The driver of the Volkswagon Passat, later identified as Simpson, left the scene prior to the arrival of any emergency responders, police said. The driver of the CRV was transported to Doylestown Hospital. The extent of injuries was not revealed.

Authorities conducted a K9 search of the area, but were unable to locate the driver of the Passat immediately following the crash. Charges against Simpson, which include reckless endangerment, accidents involving death or injury while not licensed, operating vehicle without ignition interlock and related offenses, were filed Tuesday.

Simpson is being held at Bucks County prison after failing to make bail, which was set at 10 percent of $700,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 12.
