Arrests Made For Assault, Reckless Driving: Central Bucks Regional

Police also reported numerous thefts, DUI arrests, criminal mischief, among other incidents.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks Regional Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests during the month of April:

April 3

  • Liquor Law Violation - 132 Veterans Way at the Wine & Spirits store in Doylestown Borough. A 20-year-old man from Horsham was cited following an attempt to purchase liquor with a false identification card.

  • DUI - Green Street and Homestead Drive, Doylestown Borough. A 53-year-old man from Furlong was charged with DUI following a traffic stop for speeding. The driver presented with slurred speech, glassy bloodshot eyes, unstable gait, and an odor of alcoholic beverage. Field sobriety tests were unable to be completed. A subsequent legal blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital.
  • Criminal Mischief, Criminal Trespass, and Other Charges - N. Main Street, Chalfont Borough. A 33-year-old Chalfont man was charged following police response to a suspicious male subject, under the influence, banging on the door, climbing the outside stairs, and destroying property.

April 5

  • Retail Theft - 456 N. Main Street at the Target store, Doylestown Borough. A 17-year-old female and a 37-year-old woman from Doylestown were charged after being observed switching price tags and paying for the items at the lower price tag rate of $36.38 vs. the actual value of $211.04. Additional charges include a retail theft at the same location, utilizing the same method of theft, with a loss of $153.04.

  • Terroristic Threats, Assault – Broadale Road, Doylestown Borough. Police responded to a residence on Broadale Road for the report of a man, later identified as Andrew Webster, 56, of Doylestown, threatening to shoot people in his home. Webster threatened to use a weapon against the victim and others who were visiting the residence who left the home immediately. Police were advised that Webster had access to firearms inside his bedroom. Webster was taken into custody, arraigned, bail set at 10% of $60,000 with restrictions, and remanded to Bucks County Prison.
  • Criminal Mischief – 301 E. Court Street (Doylestown Cemetery), Doylestown Borough. A 54-year-old man from Doylestown was charged with cutting a tree using a chainsaw on March 17. The man told police he needed the cuttings for medicinal use.

April 7

  • Counterfeit Registration And Other Charges – N. Main and E. State Streets, Doylestown Borough. A 42-year-old man from Doylestown was charged following a traffic stop for illegal PA registration plates.
  • Ordinance Violation - N. Franklin Street, Doylestown Borough. Homestar Remodeling, LLC, Wilmington, DE, was cited for soliciting without a permit. A citation was issued.

April 8

  • Weapons Violation - 143 E. Butler Avenue (Bunker Gun Shop II), Chalfont Borough. A 23-year-old Chalfont man was charged with falsifying records to purchase a firearm.

April 9

  • DUI - East Court and North Church Street, Doylestown Borough. A 40-year-old Furlong man was charged following a traffic stop for erratic driving. The driver presented with bloodshot eyes, an odor of alcoholic beverage, and could not remember his address. Field sobriety tests were administered and the man refused a legal blood draw.
  • DUI – Shewell Avenue, Doylestown Borough. A 22-year-old Warminster man was charged following police dispatch to a reckless driver reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed and almost striking pedestrians. Police conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in Doylestown Borough. The man presented with extremely glassy eyes, slow and deliberate speech. Field sobriety tests were administered and a subsequent legal blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital.
  • Harassment - Unami Trail, Chalfont Borough. A 40-year-old man from Lansdale was charged with sending the victim continuous degrading and insulting text messages.

April 10

  • Theft, 425 S. Main Street (Wawa), Doylestown Borough. A 37-year-old man was cited for leaving the store with coffee and pastries without paying.
  • Burglary, Criminal Trespassing and Other Charges – Shewell Avenue, Doylestown Borough. A 37-year-od man attempted burglary and trespassing on resident’s property. The man is known to the resident and had previously been warned not to be on the property. He was taken into custody
  • Drug Violations, 200 W. State Street (McCaffrey’s Simply Fresh), Doylestown Borough. A 26-year-old woman from Long Eddy was charged after police responded to a well-being check.
  • Liquor Law Violation - 132 Veterans Way (Wine & Spirits), Doylestown Borough. An 18-year-old man from Doylestown was cited after he attempted to purchase alcohol while under age.

April 12

  • Ordinance Violation - State and Main Streets, Doylestown Borough. A 26-year-old Philadelphia woman was cited for possessing a small amount of marijuana following a traffic stop for driving the wrong way down a one-way street.
  • Counterfeit Plates, Fraudulent Registration and Other Charges - N. Main & Hamilton Streets, Chalfont Borough. A 39-year-old man from Philadelphia was charged following a traffic stop for displaying a fraudulent PA registration plate.
  • Liquor Law Violation, Main and East Streets, Doylestown Borough. Two juveniles were cited following a traffic stop for lights not illuminated during the required time. The driver and passenger presented with shaking hands and red eyes. The passenger admitted to having alcohol in the vehicle. Citations have been filed.

April 16

  • Drug Violation, 833 E. Butler Avenue (Foundations Behavioral Health), New Britain Borough. A juvenile was charged following officer response for a student possessing a THC vape pen. A Juvenile Written Allegation has been filed.

April 18

  • Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, And Engage Fighting - 51 W. Court Street (Villa Capri Restaurant), Doylestown Borough. A 50-year-old man from Perkasie was charged with punching the victim (known to the offender) in the face multiple times on April 12.
  • DUI - E. State Street, Doylestown Borough. A 51-year-old woman from Jamison was charged following a traffic stop for rear lights not being illuminated during a required time. The driver presented with an odor of alcoholic beverage, bloodshot/glassy eyes, and slurred speech. Field sobriety tests were administered and a subsequent legal blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

April 19

  • Drug Violations - Hickory and Vaux Drives, New Britain Borough. An 18-year-old man from Doylestown was charged following a police dispatch for the report of a suspicious parked vehicle. A strong odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle and the driver attempted to conceal marijuana.

April 20

  • Public Drunkenness - E. State Street, Doylestown Borough. A 22-year-old man from Washington, D.C., was cited following police response to a well-being check for a subject lying on the sidewalk.
  • DUI And Other Charges - Dommel Way, Doylestown Borough. A 29-year-old man from Hellertown was charged with DUI. While officers responded to another incident in the area, the man drove aggressively toward their location with many pedestrians in the area. Officers stopped the driver who admitted to drinking, did not produce a valid vehicle registration and was driving on a suspended license. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and a subsequent legal blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital.
  • Defiant Trespass, Disorderly Conduct - 235 E. State Street (OLMC) Doylestown Borough. A 61-year-old Doylestown man was charged with the above offenses following police response for a subject being confrontational with church staff. The man reportedly was driving his scooter at a high speed through an Easter egg hunt that was being held.

April 26

  • Criminal Mischief - 18 W. State Street (Doylestown Inn), Doylestown Borough. A 26-year-old man from Lansdale was cited for damage to a business fence in the alley.
  • Public Drunkenness - West State Street, Doylestown Borough. A 72-year-old man from Doylestown was cited after police observed him lying on the sidewalk.

April 29

  • Ordinance Violation - East Court Street, Doylestown. A 29-year-old Doylestown man was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana after police conducted a traffic stop.
