Artist Alan Fetterman to Speak at Benefit
Part of the proceeds from the appearance at Harmony Hill Gardens in Hilltown will benefit a local women's addiction recovery program.
Alan Fetterman believes one word is a key to understanding life's joys and challenges, and he will be sharing that word in a lecture next month.
The Bucks Couny artist will draw on his eclectic background and travels as he speaks on art and philosophy at Harmony Hill Gardens in Hilltown Township. Fetterman is scheduled to appear June 3 at The Lotus Project, an open air educational venue at the gardens.

Born in 1958, Fetterman graduated from Central Bucks East High School in 1976. Though he is a well-known artist today, he didn't start painting until he was 35, inspired by a trip to the Louvre in Paris.
His art, which also includes writing, poetry, sculpture, reflects a lifelong dedication to learning and the humanities.

Best known for his impressionist paintings, Fetterman was self-taught. His formal education includes a degree in American Studies from Bucks County Community College in 1998 and a Kay Scholar in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008.
His work can be seen at the , and he is one of four featured artists at the Silverman Gallery, begun last year by Herman Silverman in the Buckingham Greene shopping center. The other three are Joseph Barrett, Myles Cavanaugh and Jennifer Hansen Rolli.
Fetterman also actively participates in the Central Bucks County community. He is a founding member of the Arts and Cultural Council of Bucks County and has served on the Bucks County Planning Commission, as well as many other groups.
The event at Harmony Hill Gardens is scheduled for Sunday, June 3, 2012 from noon to 3 p.m.
Tickets are $50; a portion goes to the Woman’s Recovery Center of The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania, Inc.
Each attendee will receive a small gift from the artist and a light healthy lunch presented by Sondra Weidman of The Cooking Club PA.
