Assaults, DUI Crashes, And Thefts: Doylestown Township Crime Report

The department reported 727 total incidents, including arrests for DUI and disorderly conduct, during February.

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Doylestown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests in February, ranging from property damage to assaults.

The department handled 727 incidents in February, according to the department's monthly summary. Officers investigated 39 traffic accidents during the month. They also issued 34 traffic citations and 124 traffic warnings. Additionally, police issued two non-traffic citations.

Criminal investigations included a variety of offenses ranging from property damage to assaults.

On Feb. 10, an employee of Delaware Valley University reported an assault that occurred between employees at Levin Dining Hall.

Police also investigated two reports of criminal mischief involving vandalized vehicles on Dogwood Lane and Lower State Road. A suspect was identified and charged in the Lower State Road case.

Three disorderly conduct incidents were reported at Doylestown Hospital. Officers responded to the emergency room on Feb. 2, 19, and 21 to handle disorderly individuals. One incident on Feb. 21 involved a subject who engaged in a fight with hospital security after being asked to leave.

DUI offenses remained a primary focus for patrol officers.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested for DUI on Feb. 13 following a single-vehicle crash on Almshouse Road.

On Feb. 27, a 49-year-old man was arrested for DUI after a two-car collision on Swamp Road.

Theft reports also required police attention during the month.

On Feb. 11, officers investigated multiple reports of theft from vehicles and unauthorized access to unlocked cars near Steeplechase Drive.

A separate retail theft involving a $300 loss was reported at the Barnes and Noble bookstore on Feb. 19.

Officers also arrested a 42-year-old man on Feb. 19 near Easton Road after discovering he had an active arrest warrant from New Jersey.

Fraud remains a concern, with police taking eight reports of fraud or attempted fraud during February.
