Woman Dies After Medical Event At Bucks Co. Prison
The 37-year-old woman was transported to Doylestown Hospital, where she was receiving medical care when she died.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Bucks County Coroner's Office is investigating the death of a 37-year-old inmate at the Bucks County Correctional Department in March.
The 37-year-old Bristol Township woman was pronounced dead at Doylestown Hospital after being transported to the hospital for a "medical event" by ambulance from the county prison.
The county posted a brief notice on its website that the death had occurred, but offered no further details.

The Bucks County Coroner's office has identified the inmate as Ashley Gushue of Bristol Township. The coroner, however, has not yet determined a cause or manner of death, according to a report published by the Bucks County Courier Times.
Gushue was arrested in early March on a bench warrant and had been scheduled for a hearing in April, according to court records.

In early 2023, Gushue was arrested by the Newtown Township Police Department on misdemeanor drug possession charges and summary traffic offenses, including driving while privileges were revoked.
