Authorities Seeking To ID Body Found In The Delaware River

Bucks County Coroner Patti Campi said DNA has been sent to CODIS, a nationwide database of DNA profiles in hopes of making a match.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Bucks County Coroners Office and the Pennsylvania State Police are turning to the latest in technology to identify the body of a man pulled from the Delaware River in 2025.

The body was found floating in the river in the Pipersville area by a passerby on June 6, 2025. The adult white man had brown hair, was fully clothed, and had a shaved face. He was wearing blue jeans, a belt, a long sleeve shirt, sneakers and socks.

The condition of the remains were not recognizable from decomposting and putrefaction, according to the coroner's office.

Bucks County Coroner Patti Campi said DNA has been sent to CODIS, a nationwide database of DNA profiles in hopes of making a match.

As of June 2024, CODIS had helped with more than 694,000 investigations and contains more than 22.2 million profiles.

Campi said her office has also sent out an FTA card to Othram, a private forensic genetic genealogy lab for possible identification.

Othram specializes in extracting DNA from degraded evidence and building family trees to find unknown individuals and helping to solve decades-old cold cases.
