WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A Doylestown woman is facing charges after attempting to steal merchandise from a township store.

On April 6, police were called to the Target store to investigate a retail theft. Upon arrival, police were told that a 50-year-old woman had been detained by store personnel for retail theft.

Store personnel told police that the woman had loaded two reusable bags with merchandise and tied them closed before selecting additional items. She then proceeded through the checkout area and left the store without paying, police said.

The woman was placed under arrest and transported to the police station, where she was processed and released. She has been charged with retail theft and receiving stolen merchandise.
