Barnes & Noble Cuts The Ribbon On Its Newest Store In Doylestown
Within minutes of cutting the ribbon on its newest location, patrons were passing through the doors of the new 11,500 square foot store.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The new Barnes & Noble store opened on Wednesday at the Barn Plaza in Doylestown Township to an enthusiastic crowd of patrons.
Within minutes of cutting the ribbon on the new store, patrons were passing through the doors of the brand new 11,500-square-foot store and into a world filled with books, periodicals, vinyl records and gifts.
“I am beyond honored to be here today as the manager of our first store in this area,” Doylestown resident Sean Curran told everyone just moments before the ribbon cutting. “I am so deeply touched to see all of you. And I’m so incredibly grateful to all the people who created one of the most beautiful stores I have ever been in.”

Curran cut his teeth in the book store industry working at the Doylestown Bookshop for 15 years before joining a publishing house in New York. Six years ago he joined the Barnes & Noble organization and more recently he managed the company’s store in Plymouth Meeting.
“It’s a terrific company to work for," said Curran. "Our CEO wants us to treat our stores like independent community stores that just happen to have the Barnes & Noble brand name. That’s how I’ve always operated as an indie-minded person and that’s what Barnes & Noble allows me to do with this store.”
At the Doylestown location, Curran said patrons are going to find “a locally curated list of books. The booksellers who work here are members of the community just like the people who are going to shop here. We stock the store with things we know people are going to be looking for. What you’re going to find here is a sense of community and a lot of great, really fun well curated titles.”
Patrons will also get to meet many of the authors who will be visiting the store for book signings throughout the year. Appearing at the store this weekend will be a mix of national and local authors, according to Curran.
Two authors will be at the store on Saturday, September 7.
Author Chuck Wendig will be there at 1 p.m. He is best known for his online blog Terribleminds and his 2015 Star Wars novel trilogy "Aftermath.”
At 3 p.m., Brandan Deneen, author of “The Ninth Circle,” "Night, Night, Groot" and “Chrysalis” will be signing books.
And on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m., author Tristin Clark will be at the store autographing her book, “A War Amongst the Stars.”
