BCFA offers fall food preservation workshop
Register now for this workshop, held 10am-3pm at Plumsteadville Grange on Saturday, September 12.

The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance (BCFA) and the Bucks County chapter of Buy Fresh Buy Local® present “Fearless Food Preservation,” a workshop showing participants up-to-date methods to safely can, freeze and ferment your fall harvest, on Saturday, September 12, 10am to 3pm at the Plumsteadville Grange, 5901 Old Easton Road, Plumsteadville 18949.
A nominal fee of $25 per person covers equipment and ingredients. Space is limited: register in advance at BucksFoodshed.org or 215.621.8967. Please bring your own cutting board and sharp knives and expect to take home a container of preserved vegetables or fruit.
Mandel Smith, a Master Food Preserver with Montgomery County Extension will lead the workshop. Susan Pierson, BCFA board president and experienced food fermenter, will assist. A familiarity with food preservation is helpful but not required.

Plumsteadville Grange holds its weekly farmers market from 9am to 12:30pm on Saturdays, so please come early to shop. Also, overflow parking is generously offered by our neighbors at Shelly Funeral Home, 5880 Easton Road, or Plumsteadville Inn, 5902 Easton Road.
