Beauty and the Beast at Central Bucks West High School
Don't miss this "tale as old as time" presented by the CB West Harlequin Club March 21st-23rd
Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic, Disney's Beauty and the Beast with the Central Bucks West HS Harlequin Club. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.
Harlequin Club Director Jessica Bostock said she selected Beauty and the Beast as the spring musical to show off the incredibly vast talent of the students at CB West. “The demands of this show require a large cast that can sing, act and dance and this was the year to do it. The sets, costumes and staging are some of the most elaborate we’ve done at CB West” remarked Bostock. The cast is anchored by seniors Taylor Mitchell as Belle and Luke Nitschke as Gaston and junior Grant Nalty as the Beast. Mitchell and Nalty are regulars to the Central Bucks stage having performed in every musical since seventh grade. Nitschke on the other hand, a baseball player and member of the choir, has not performed in a show since 7th grade. Other seniors in the cast include Emilie Ahr as Mrs. Potts, Lily Bunce as Chip and Nora Dowdell as Babette. The show’s music director is Dr. Joseph Ohrt.
