Bon-Ton's Doylestown Store Sets Closing Date For End Of August

Many people shopping at the chain's various stores haven't been all that impressed with the liquidation sale prices.

A target closing date has been set for the Doylestown Bon-Ton. The local department store is slated to shut its doors for the final time at the end of August, according to Bon-Ton employees.

Meanwhile, liquidation sales continue. And many people shopping at the chain's various stores haven't been all that impressed with the prices.

The Bon-Ton official Facebook page has been flooded with complaints that prices are not much lower than they were before the liquidation sales began. In some cases, the prices seem higher, some patrons have complained on the page.

However, employees have responded on the page by saying the pricing is completely controlled by the liquidation group that purchased the troubled retailer in April.

Bon-Ton inventory and certain assets were acquired by a joint venture composed of the holders of the Company's 8.0 percent Second Lien Secured Note and Great American Group, LLC and Tiger Capital Group. The winning bid was $775.5 million.

There are 250 Bon-Ton stores across the nation and they're all closing, including the one in Quakertown.
