Boy Charged In Assault, Arrests For DUI, Retail Theft: Central Bucks Regional Police Log

Police reported the assault of a 13-year-old girl and the arrest of a mother and daughter for stealing a bracelet from a Doylestown store.

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The Central Bucks Regional Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests during April, including an assault on a 13-year-old girl, drug violations, retail theft, and driving under the influence.

April 1

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, Doyle Street & Harvey Avenue, Doylestown Borough — A 34-year-old man from Doylestown was charged after officers observed an abandoned electric bike, along with beer cans, in the middle of the intersection. The driver was located, field sobriety tests conducted, and a legal blood draw was conducted at Doylestown Hospital.

April 4

INDECENT ASSAULT, HARASSMENT, UNDERAGE DRINKING, 15 West State Street, Doylestown Borough — A 15-year-old boy from Perkasie was charged with indecent assault, harassment and underage drinking after assaulting a 13-year-old girl. Police said the boy grabbed the victim, pulled her behind a building and up to a rooftop where the assault occured.

LIQUOR LAW VIOLATION, 561 N. Main Street (McDonald’s), Doylestown Borough — Two 16-year-old boys - one from Dublin and one from Perkasie - were cited for underage drinking after officers observed them consuming Twisted Teas. The teens admitted they stole the beverage from a store located out of town. Theft charges from another department are being filed.

April 6

DISORDERLY CONDUCT & PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, 44 E. Oakland Avenue (Maennerchor Society), Doylestown Borough — A 21-year-old man from Warminster was cited after he forced his way into a private club on March 29. The man screamed obscenities and presented with signs of intoxication.

April 8

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, W. Court & N. Hamilton Streets, Doylestown Borough — A 29-year-old man from Doylestown was charged following a traffic stop for failure to stop at a posted sign and erratic driving. The driver presented with signs of intoxication; field tests were performed and legal blood draw obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

April 9

DRUG VIOLATION, 833 Butler Avenue (LifeWorks School), New Britain Borough — A 15-year-old boy from Greenville was charge following police response to the school. Officials told police that they had confiscated two THC vape pens from the boy.

April 13

RETAIL THEFT, 31 W. State Street (Something Else), Doylestown Borough — A 50-year-old woman and a 24-year-old woman from Warminster were charged after the mother and daughter stole a bracelet and sandals, totaling $100, on April 11.

April 16

RETAIL THEFT, 425 S. Main Street (Wawa), Doylestown Borough — A 39-year-old man, no fixed abode, was charged with retail theft after police responded to a theft at Wawa. The man left the store with a hoagie and orange juice passing all points of sale without making a purchase.

April 17

DRUG VIOLATIONS, 375 W. Court Street (CB West), Doylestown Borough — A 16-year-old boy was charged with drug offenses following police response to school officials confiscating a THC vape pen.

April 18

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough — A 25-year-old man from Warrington was charged following police response to a traffic accident. The driver presented with signs of intoxication and legal blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

LIQUOR LAW VIOLATION, 13 Sunset Avenue, Chalfont Borough — An 18-year-old woman from Warrington was cited for underage drinking following police response to an unruly crowd of juveniles at the train station.

April 19

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, Doylestown Borough — A 26-year-old man from Glenside was cited for public urination.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, 19 N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough — A 24-year-old man from Yardley was cited following police assist to remove patron from the area.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, 253 W. State Street, Doylestown Borough — A 22-year-old man from Warminster was cited after an officer conducting a wellbeing check found him laying on the grass with his legs stretched across the sidewalk. The man presented with signs of intoxication.

April 21

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, 480 N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough — A 57-year-old woman from Doylestown was charged with DUI when officers responded to a report of subject drinking from a wine bottle while driving. The woman presented with signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tests were administered and legal blood draw obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

INDECENT ASSAULT, UNLAWFUL CONDUCT, ENDANGER MINOR, Doylestown Borough — A 65-year-old man from Doylestown was charged after a victim told police in March that they had been sexually assaulted as a minor child 15 years ago. An arrest warrant was issued, and the man was taken into custody in Texas.

April 23

RETAIL THEFT, 31 W. State Street (Something Else), Doylestown Borough — A 35-year-old man from Doylestown was charge with retail theft for stealing a pair of Birch sunglasses and a Riptide bracelet, valued at $310. The man returned later the same day to return the items and apologize. Due to several prior retail thefts, the man was charged with a felony count of retail theft; arraigned, bail set at 10 percent of $25,000 and remanded to Bucks County Prison.

April 26

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE S. Main and W. Ashland Streets, Doylestown Borough — A 31-year-old man from Richboro was charged with DUI following a traffic stop for rear lights not being illuminated during a required time. The driver presented with signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tests were administered and legal blood draw obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

April 27

THEFT, 456 North Main Street (Target), Doylestown Borough — A 27-year-old man from Philadelphia was charged after stealing a bicycle, valued at $1,000, from a customer shopping in the Target store. The bicycle was tracked to Wawa in Doylestown Borough where police confronted the subject and he admitted to taking the bicycle.
