The 6th Annual Colby Umbrell Memorial Walk and 5k Run

Colby Umbrell was a 1999 graduate of Central Bucks East High School.   On May 3, 2007, 1st Lt. Colby J. Umbrell died from wounds sustained while serving his country during Operation Iraqi Freedom on May 3, 2007 in Iraq.   Colby was just 26 years old.  

The 6^th Annual Colby Umbrell Memorial Walk and 5k Run will be held on Saturday, May 11.  The race starts at 9 AM with registration beginning at 7:30AM at Doylestown Twp Central Park on Wells Road.

This annual event raises funds for the 1st LT Colby James Umbrell, Bronze Star Scholarship which is awarded to young athletes to help them meet their goals.  The monies raised are also used to support causes close to Colby's heart.  Some of those include the "Colby Classic" a Special Olympics Central Bucks Swim Meet and Veterans programs to name a few.  The event is more than a fundraiser and a memorial; it is also a celebration of his life.  Please join us!

All proceeds from this event will go to the Colby Umbrell Memorial Fund, which supports local student scholarships and other charities. Some past recipients include: Bronze Star Football, Baseball and Military Scholarships, Central Bucks Special Olympics Swim Program, Doylestown American Legion and VFW, American Cancer Society, Coatesville Veterans Center, and the Dover AFB Fisher House Project.
