'Bridgerton' Author To Keynote Bucks County Book Festival

The festival continues on Saturday with a new event - the Bucks County Writers Market - which is free and open to the public.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Bucks County Book Festival is taking place on Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept 30 in Doylestown.

The festival celebrates literacy, sparks imagination, and inspires people of all ages by connecting authors and readers, instilling a passion for reading and writing, and creating fun for our neighbors and visitors.

The festival opens with keynote speaker, New York Times Best Selling Author Julia Quinn, on Friday, Sept. 29 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Life Sciences building at the Delaware Valley University. Doors open at 6 p.m. She is the author of the Bridgerton Series, now a Netflix original series produced by Shondaland Media.

Quinn is the author of 19 consecutive New York Times bestsellers. In March 2021, all eight Bridgerton novels were on the NYT list at the same time, a record for an adult fiction author.

On December 25, 2020, Bridgerton — a Shondaland/Netflix original series based on her most popular series of books — made its debut to record ratings and critical acclaim. Bridgerton reached 82 million households in its first 28 days online and was Netflix’s No. 1 show in 76 countries.

Tickets are $20 to $32 and are available by clicking here.

The festival continues on Saturday with a new event - the Bucks County Writers Market - from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the James Lorah Memorial Home, 132 North Main Street, Dolestown 18940. The event is free and open to the public.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet new authors, purchase books, and win door prizes.

Participating authors include Chris Bauer, R. Winston Carroll, Patricia K. DeMaria, Mike Diccicco, Christy Distler, Jonathan Alexander Exaros, Robbin Farr, Susan L. Markloff, John A. McCabe, Bob McCrillis, John McDonnell, Sheleen McElhinney, Kathryn R. McKenna, Florence Niewood, Valerie Ogden, Josephine B. Pasquarello, Carrie Pierce, Michael Pogach, Victoria Short, Tim Smyth, Melissa D. Sullivan, Robert Scott Thayer, Leanne Treese and Linda C. Wisniewski.

This is a juried event where a select number of authors were chosen by a panel of judges to meet readers and sell their books. The event is designed to feature Bucks County self or independently published authors.

The market is sponsored by the Friends of the Doylestown Library.
