Buckingham Wawa Shooting Update

A 51-year-old man took his own life inside of his car in the parking lot of the Wawa store

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 51-year-old man from Doylestown committed suicide on Tuesday in the parking lot at the Buckingham Township Wawa store on North Easton Road.

According to the Bucks County Coroner’s office, the man died from a gunshot wound to the head while inside his car in the parking lot of the store.

"It was a suicide. There was no foul play," said Coroner Patti Campi.

Buckingham detectives, along with the Bucks County Coroner's Office, responded to the scene.

With a heavy police presence around the usually busy store, Buckingham Township Police sought to reassure the public in a news release on the incident.

"There is no danger to the employees or customers of the Wawa store," police said.
