Bucks Co. SPCA Hires New Humane Society Police Officer

Their responsibilities will include investigating claims of animal neglect and cruelty, educating the public, and solving animal issues.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Bucks County SPCA has announced the hiring of a new Humane Society Police Officer.

Officer Kalah Ingle was sworn in by the Honorable Judge Jeffrey G. Trauger during a ceremony at the Bucks County Justice Center in Doylestown. In attendance were Officer Ingle’s family, Bucks County SPCA board president Maria Wirths, Chief Humane Society Police Officer Nikki Thompson, Officer Lizz Knight, and other members of the SPCA staff.

"Officer Ingle has been an asset to the BCSPCA since joining the organization in 2025 as a Humane Law Coordinator. Her commitment to protecting and serving animals is evidenced by her dedication, professionalism, and teamwork," said the SPCA in a Facebook posting.

As a Humane Society Police Officer, Ingle’s responsibilities will include investigating claims of animal neglect and cruelty, educating the public, helping to find solutions for animal-related issues, and prosecution of crimes.

Animal cruelty investigation has been at the heart of BCSPCA’s mission since its founding in 1912. Last year, the organization's Humane Law Enforcement team responded to 626 complaints of possible cruelty and neglect, resulting in the rescue of 411 animals.
