DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Bucks County Classic bike race is launching a campaign to support the Bucks County Opportunity Council and racers in the Doylestown Health Pro Women and Thompson Pro Men races on Sept. 10.

The Give Back Prime is an initiative to give bonus Prime awards during the pro races and help support the work the Bucks County Opportunity Council is doing in the community.

A Prime -pronounced Preem and coming from the French word for bonus - is a mid-race award in bike racing. Primes are awarded on certain laps during the race. The laps are announced by the ringing of a bell signifying that the first rider to cross the line during the following lap will receive a bonus award. Primes animate the race but also serve to award the riders out there doing the work to set their teammates up for success.
