Bucks County District Attorney To Step Down, Report Says

Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler will step down in September, according to reports.

The Morning Call says Heckler, a Doylestown resident, will announce this afternoon that he's leaving office effective Sept. 2.

"It's time for the next generation to step up," he told the publication.

The District Attorney's office did not immediately return a call seeking comment but did post the following update on its Facebook page, with a link to the Morning Call's article: "Congratulations and Godspeed to the man we call 'The Boss." He will be missed and long appreciated by all of us here."
