Bucks County Foodshed Alliance elects Gavin Laboski as president of board
Local attorney leads BCFA for its 10th anniversary year building 'resilient local food system through education and collaboration.'
Bucks County attorney Gavin Laboski has been elected president of Bucks County Foodshed Alliance board of directors for 2016 and will be leading the grassroots community service organization through its 10th anniversary this year.
Bucks County Foodshed Alliance educates and builds partnerships within the community to connect farmers and consumers, develop a resilient local food system and strengthen our farming economy. Besides regular programs open to the public, BCFA oversees the successful year-round Wrightstown Farmers Market and sponsors the Bucks County chapter of Buy Fresh Buy Local®, part of the national nonprofit FoodRoutes Network’s consumer education program.
“I’m excited to head up the board, this year especially,” said Gavin, who lives with his family in Chalfont. “In 2015 we made several changes to membership structure and fundraising—including hosting our first Foodshed 5K at Delaware Valley University in October—that challenge us to enhance our education programs and do all we can to support the local farming economy.
