Bucks County Inmate Died From Natural Causes, Autopsy Reveals
After finding the 48-year-old in distress, she was taken to the Doylestown Hospital Emergency Room where she was pronounced dead.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A 48-year-old inmate at the Bucks County Correctional Facility in Doylestown died March 1 from natural causes, according to autopsy results released by the Bucks County Coroner.
Melissia Mager, a 48-year-old woman from the Frankford section of Philadelphia, was arrested on Feb. 24 on a bench warrant out of Bristol Township and admitted to the Bucks County Correctional Facility early on Feb. 25.
On the morning of March 1, staff at the correctional facility called 9-1-1 after observing Mager in distress. She was taken to the Doylestown Hospital Emergency Room where she was pronounced dead at 11:41 a.m. the same day, according to the coroner's office.

An autopsy performed at the Bucks County Forensic Center on March 2 determined that the cause of death was a perforated duodenal ulcer and the manner of death was natural.
“I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Mager family on their loss,” said Coroner Meredith Buck. “The Coroner’s Office takes any in-custody death very seriously and does an independent investigation to determine the cause and manner of death. The autopsy showed no evidence of external trauma or foul play. Bowel perforation is a serious complication of peptic ulcer disease and, as in this case, can be fatal.”
