Souderton Teacher Wins Kelly Ripa Co-Hosting Competition

A Souderton Area High School teacher the winner of the co-hosting competition with Kelly Ripa on "Live With Kelly."

Richard Curtis, a Perkasie resident and teacher at Souderton Area High School, was announced as the winner of the "Live With Kelly and You" competition on Friday morning, when he was invited to co-host the program on national television.

Meanwhile, students at Souderton gathered for a pep rally to watch if their teacher was selected. When the news was shared that it was in fact Curtis, the crowd went wild. See the video here:

In a video shared on the Live with Kelly Facebook page, Curtis is shown greeting Ripa upon learning he won.

"We are going to rock it today, it's going to be so exciting. This is going to be a blast, and I promise not to let you down. Let's go there and just have an awesome time today."

He says he's a "huge" fan of Ripa, according to the Bucks County Herald. “I’m excited. My family is excited. My students are jazzed up. You can’t beat it," he told the newspaper.
