Bucks County Marching Band Finishes First In National Competition

The Quakertown band brought home first place in its division from the USBands PA State Championships.

QUAKERTOWN, PA — Quakertown Community School District’s Panther Marching Band finished first in its division at the USBands PA State Championships held on Oct. 21 at Kottmeyer Stadium in Downingtown.

The band competed in Group IV Open, the second largest division determined by the size of the band. The open classification is the most advanced.

The win represents a major milestone for the Panther Marching Band as USBands is a national competition circuit.

The judging panel included judges from San Francisco, CA; Summerville, GA; Lakewood, FL;
Boston, MA; as well as other parts of the country.

Next up, the band will compete in the USBands National Championships on Nov. 4 under the
direction of Band Director Rachael Urquhart.
