Bucks County SCORE To Offer 4 Free Business Webinars In July

Webinars will focus on making a business more accessible; retirement planning; and profit and loss statement and 1099 forms.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — In a continued effort to keep the local business community informed, SCORE Bucks County will offer four free webinars in July.

On July 11, SCORE will offer “Make Your Business More Accessible.” Led by Felicia Shanken, CEO/founder of the Philadelphia Women’s Network Connection, LLC, the workshop will provide insight on building digital communications that allow people with disabilities to navigate and interact with their products and services.

Shanken will discuss what accountability means online; how to design for accessibility, including web pages, email and tips for physical space; and guidance for being more inclusive.

On July 18, SCORE will offer “Retirement Planning 101 for Small Businesses.” Katrina Boyer, Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities investor education coordinator will lead the
webinar. She will focus on saving and investing for your retirement needs, highlighting programs
available that target small business owners and their employees.

Boyer will provide insight on retirement planning for small business owners; different plans that may be available, including types of accounts and annual maximum; contribution limits; and two retirement strategies to consider.

On July 18, SCORE, in conjunction with Amazon, will offer “Office Hours with Amazon.” From noon to 1 p.m., Amazon representatives will discuss the company’s Black Business Accelerator, which offers financial assistance, strategic business guidance and mentorship, as well as marketing and promotional support to help current and aspiring Black small business owners grow their businesses and maximize opportunities of selling via Amazon’s store. This session is geared for business owners who are currently a certified Black-owned product-based business or aspiring one, who are new to Amazon.

On July 25, SCORE will offer “Profit and Loss Statement & 1099 Forms.” Led by George F. Holzer III, a partner at Scott A. Miller & Co., CPA’s PLLC, the webinar will provide insight on income statements and 1099 forms. Holzer will discuss the components of profit and loss, as well as cost of goods sold, overhead expenses and other income and expenses.

Holzer will shed light on analyzing administrative expenses; demystifying 1099 form; and calculating break-even points.
