Bucks First Responder Posthumously Recognized As 'True Hometown Hero'
U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick includes Glen Golembeski as one of the 1st Congressional District's 'Hometown Heroes.'

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Buck County Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick has posthumously
honored Glen Golembeski as one of the 1st Congressional District’s “True Hometown Heroes.”
Golembeski, of Doylestown, passed away Oct. 1 following a brave battle with cancer.
Glen, a 27-year-old, third-generation firefighter, was a Doylestown native and Central Bucks East High School graduate.

Faced with physical health challenges from a young age, Glen chose to go through life with a positive outlook and met every obstacle he encountered with a smile - “can't" was not a word in his vocabulary.
Following in the footsteps of his dad and grandfather, Glen was determined to serve his community and joined the Midway Volunteer Fire Company at just 16.

He went on to serve as an EMT firefighter with the Bryn Athyn Fire Company and Ambulance Service, an EMT with Warrington Community Ambulance Corps, a volunteer firefighter with Midway Fire Company, a valuable member of the Newtown Ambulance Squad and the Lingohocken Fire Company, and for the past five years as an EMT with the Bensalem Rescue Squad.
"Glen leaves behind a legacy of extraordinary resilience and dedication to serving and protecting our community," said Fitzpatrick. "Please join me in extending condolences to Glen's family and
colleagues, and always remember his lifetime of service to our community,” he said.
A celebration of life for Glen will be held at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown 18901 on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Bensalem Rescue Squad, 3830 Hulmeville Road, P.O. Box 911, Bensalem 19020 or Midway Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 296, Lahaska 18931.
