Bucks Man Wanted For Possessing Child Porn Arrested At Mexican Border
According to Warrington investigators, the Quakertown man had more than 3,000 files containing child pornography.
WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A Quakertown man is facing multiple felony charges for possessing and disseminating more than 3,000 images of child pornography.
Charles William Guthier of Quakertown has been charged by the Warrington Township Police Department with one count each of dissemination of child pornography, possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communications facility.
On Oct. 23, while conducting an undercover investigation into the online sharing of
child pornography, a Warrington Internet Crimes Against Children investigator located a computer that was displaying a public IP address that resolved to Quakertown Borough.

According to investigators, 25 files were downloaded from the computer using file-sharing software. An additional 46 files depicting Child Sexual Abuse Material were downloaded from the computer on October 24.
After investigators connected the computer's IP address to Guthier, a search warrant was executed at his home where several electronic and storage items were seized. The items were analyzed and were found to contain more than 3,000 additional files depicting child pornography, police said.

On March 21 an arrest warrant was obtained for Guthier, who was arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol in south Texas at the Mexican border. He was detained in Texas and extradited back to Pennsylvania to face charges.
Guthier was turned over to Warrington Police on April 17. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Christopher O'Neill and remanded to Bucks County Prison on $500,000/10 percent bail.
According to police, Guthier is actively registered under Megan's Law from a previous conviction.
The Warrington Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division extended its thanks to the U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, the Bucks County Detectives, the Quakertown Borough Police Department, the Hilltown Township Police Department, and the Bucks County Sheriffs for their assistance with the
investigation.
