Summer Career Exploration Program

Summer Career Exploration Program, is running July 6–10, 2026!

We’re offering morning sessions (8–11 AM) and afternoon sessions (12–3 PM) for students entering 7th, 8th, or 9th grade who want to check out what MBIT is all about and try hands-on experiences across our programs.

Basic Auto Repair & Maintenance

Get hands-on experience and build essential skills for life on the road. This course introduces students to the basic automotive repair and maintenance skills necessary for future drivers, car owners, and technicians. Students will learn how to check and change fluids, service tires, and perform other routine maintenance tasks that help keep vehicles safe, reliable, and running smoothly.

Web Design

Learn the current technology used in web applications.Develop basic web design skills to create dynamic websites.

Cosmetology

Expand your knowledge of hair, skin, and nails through the use of hairstyling techniques, facials, makeup applications, and manicures.

Building Trades

Unplug the devices and get your hands on the real thing! In this fast-paced, high-energy week, you won’t just learn how buildings work, you’ll construct one yourself. After some safety lessons, we’ll be diving into the "Big Four" Trades, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing and Paint to transform raw materials into a finished masterpiece using the skills of a master craftsman.

Desserts & Baking

This course will explore brownies, cookies, and quick bread, and will cover cake and cupcake decorating techniques

Culinary Arts

Explore the field of Culinary Arts while learning how to read a recipe, use culinary equipment, prepare simple menus, and develop your own recipe books.

Architecture & Construction Engineering

Develop basic drafting and design skills using Google SketchUp software. You will be designing your amusement park and a 3D modeling.

Electrical Technology

Discover the fundamentals of electrical technology through interactive workshops and hands-on projects.

Child Care Skills: Babysitting 101

This course is ideal for students who are interested in exploring a career in childcare or looking to enhance their babysitting skills. By the end of the program, participants will be equipped with a better understanding of how to provide quality care for children and embark on a rewarding babysitting journey. Join us this summer and unlock the door to a fulfilling and impactful career in childcare!

Video Editing

This is the perfect starting point for anyone interested in content creation, YouTube, or filmmaking. This introductory course focuses on the core skills needed to take raw footage and turn it into a compelling, polished video. We will demystify the editing process, teaching fundamental techniques for cutting, organizing, adding music, and exporting your final product for sharing with the world.

Medical & Health Professions

Explore the world of disease and prevention through the eyes of a healthcare worker. Students will learn about the body by performing hands-on skills in a simulated medical environment. Interactive workshops will allow the student to investigate a variety of medical careers.

Carpentry

Students will learn the basics of measuring, cutting, and assembling real wood projects while working safely with tools used by professionals. By the end of the week, students will complete their own hands-on project and discover how creativity and craftsmanship come together to build amazing things.

Digital Cinema Exploration

This summer workshop is for those who are curious about video storytelling. Creative learners will be guided through the process of digital cinema from preproduction to post production. Students will learn by doing in this collaborative and creative environment.

Plumbing & Heating Technology

Turn on the fun and learn how things really work behind the walls! Students will explore how water systems, pipes, and heating equipment keep homes running every day. Students will try hands-on activities, learn basic installation skills, and discover how skilled technicians solve real-world problems. It’s a great experience for students who like to build, fix, and figure out how systems work!

Engineering Related Technology

Students will explore how engineers turn ideas into real-world solutions. Through creative design challenges and interactive activities, students will experiment with problem-solving, simple engineering concepts, and build small prototypes while learning how innovation shapes the world around us. Perfect for curious minds who love to invent and figure out how things work!
