What is your Heart Song?
Heart Song: The Lost Frequency is an original musical storytelling experience by Ruth Anne Wood, presented as part of the 2026 Philadelphia Fringe Festival, September 8–27, 2026.
Blending original music, storytelling, improvisation and intimate conversations between two characters, Curious and Wise, Heart Song explores identity, connection, change, self-acceptance and the ways we listen to ourselves and one another.
At the center of the experience is a simple question: What happens when we lose touch with something essential inside ourselves—and what might happen when we begin listening again?
Wood's creative process has evolved into more than a single performance. Through @LiveYourPeace, she is building an ongoing collection of songs, stories, conversations and creative experiments designed to connect artists and audiences around themes of authenticity, transformation, joy and self-discovery.
Following the Fringe, Wood plans to continue inviting Philadelphia-area musicians, writers, performers, visual artists, storytellers and other creative collaborators to participate in conversations, readings, musical experiments, interviews and new interpretations of the Heart Song material.
The project grew from Wood's return to music, songwriting and performance and her ongoing exploration of how creative expression can help us process change and imagine who we are becoming. Her community influences include music open mics, the Bucks County Writers Group, longtime creative collaborators and two terms serving on the board of Twilight Wish Foundation.
