BUCKINGHAM, PA — Rob Strickler, who is running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 1st District, has launched a "Democracy Dogs Animal Shelter Food Drive," running now through Valentine's Day, February 14.

Through the Democracy Dogs program, Strickler said residents are encouraged to donate unopened dog or cat food and campaign volunteers will pick up donations directly from donors, making participation easy and accessible for everyone.

“Pets are family and these animals, while still looking for their forever home, need food,” said Strickler, who is running in the Democratic Primary this spring. “Our local shelters do incredible work, often with limited resources, so we're expanding the scope of Democracy Dogs to support those organizations that care for animals waiting to be adopted.”

Strickler said the Democracy Dogs initiative reflects his love of dogs and broader campaign commitment to support area organizations and the community. Throughout the campaign, Strickler said he has emphasized economic fairness, healthcare access, affordable housing and childcare, and protecting democracy, values, he said, that extend beyond politics into direct community action.

“Our slogan is 'Not a Politician. Just Your Neighbor.' Good neighbors show up, give back and strengthen the community,” Strickler added. “There are so many dogs and cats that need loving homes. So please - adopt, don’t shop.”
