CB East Boys Place Third In Penn Relays 4x800 Heat

The team's relay finished close behind Kingston College (Jamaica) and Pennsbury HS.

Doylestown’s Central Bucks East finished a close third in the Penn Relays Boys 4x800 Large Schools race on Friday.

The squad of Ata Shahideh (1:58.68), Jake Brophy (1:57.38), Louis Kettelberger (2:02.63), and Oliver Boucher (1:57.84) raced to a combined time of 7:56.52.

They finished a breath behind Kingston College, of Jamaica, who took silver in 7:56.36.

Pennsylvania’s Pennsbury High School won the race in 7:54.98.

CB East is now qualified for the illustrious Championship of America race, scheduled for Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

They are seeded sixth in a field of 12.

Jake Brophy, the team’s fastest leg, is also entered in the boys 3,000 meter championship, scheduled for 6:10 p.m. Friday night.

Kingston College has run 7:33 this year and is considered the favorite.
