DOYLESTOWN, PA — It's the mark of a true friend to know just what it is that you need.

No one understands that better than Gus, the 11-year-old pug and therapy dog, who has been coming to classes at Gayman Elementary School for some time, as the school district related in a recent post.

But when fourth grade students in Amy Bullard's class began to notice Gus struggling to make the long walk to visit them, they decided to take action.

For two weeks in February, students worked at a wide variety of tasks: emptying dishwashers, taking out the trash, setting tables, and more, as each student earned money, according to the school district.

Finally, the students in Bullard's class raised enough money to buy something for Gus: a stroller to ease his journey from the school's office into their classroom.

"We love our friends at Gayman Elementary," Roxy Therapy Dogs, the group that brings Gus into the class, shared. "This is one of the many, many reasons we are honored to serve the students in Central Bucks School District."
