CB West alums join Cherry Lane Band at Puck on Dec. 30
Graduates of CB West High School will be the horn section with Cherry Lane Band for a dance party at Puck in Doylestown on December 30th.
Seven years ago, Neal Carson was enjoying a Central Bucks West High School Jazz Band competition, which included his son Andrew playing trumpet, when he had an idea for his 4-piece classic rock band, Cherry Lane Band. What if we put a horn section together comprised of some of these talented students? That was the beginning of the JazzWest Horns, who have joined the band in various configurations ever since.
The horn players are all in college and beyond now, but when they return to Doylestown for the holidays, the full band comes together for a special show. On December 30th, Cherry Lane Band will throw an “Eve of New Year’s Eve” dance party at Puck in Doylestown. This year’s section will feature Matt Leonard (alto), Andrew Carson (trumpet), Brian Nappi (tenor), Gabe Fraivillig (trombone), Paul Hutchings (trumpet) and Shane Arnold (alto), along with special guests.
CLB has a high-energy repertoire that includes classic rock and R&B, from Average White Band to Steely Dan to Tower of Power, along with some Bruno Mars and JT (Timberlake and Taylor).
