CB West Baseball To Raise Awareness For Pediatric Cancer At Saturday Game

Throughout 2016, Dominic Liples captured the hearts of the Doylestown community with his brave battle against brain cancer. #PRAYFORDOMINIC signs and social media posts were plentiful as businesses, families, and schools showed their love and support for the Liples family.

CB West Baseball was proud to have Dominic Liples throw out the first pitch at our final varsity home game, May 16. As he stood on the pitcher’s mound in his authentic CB West Baseball cap, his smile lit up the entire field, and it was hard to find a dry eye in the stands or on the sidelines--or even on the benches.
On Dec. 7, 2016, Dominic lost his battle, but he left a lasting impression on the community, and especially on CB West Baseball.

The high school baseball program has dedicated the 2017 season to Dominic’s memory. Players and coaches on the Varsity and Junior Varsity have Dominic’s “DL” initials embroidered on their caps. CB West Baseball coach Brad Tracy explained the team's dedication to Dominic's memory.

"Dominic truly did have an impact on our players and taught them lessons about courage, perseverance, and loving life," Tracy said. "It is our honor to dedicate our 2017 season to Dominic's memory, our players will never forget his lessons."

For our home game on Saturday, April 8, 2017, CB West Baseball has once again partnered with the Go4theGoal Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and much needed support for kids battling cancer.

CB West Baseball—and our opponents for the game, North Penn High School—will wear special gold laces in support of their Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer program. (North Penn Baseball will also host their own Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer event later in April.)

In addition, Ciarlo Liples—Dominic’s brother—will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game. The Liples family will also be in attendance.
