Centennial Golf Classic Raises More Than $130K for Doylestown Health

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The 32nd Annual Doylestown Health Foundation Golf Classic teed-off this year on June 5 with a centennial twist.

Throughout 2023, Doylestown Health has been celebrating a century of healthcare excellence. Recognizing the major milestone at the annual Golf Classic, players tested their skill at the Centennial Chipping Contest, by attempting to hit a centennial-themed target 100 feet away, in addition to other on-course games.

The Golf Classic, held at Jericho National Golf Club in Upper Makefield, was sponsored by 43 businesses and individual donors, and 34 additional contributors who donated auction items and raffle prizes.

The lead supporters of this year's event were Southland Industries (Title Sponsor), John S. McManus Inc. and The Norwood Company (Event Sponsors), SEI Investments Company (Driving Range Sponsor), and The Minford Foundation (Locker Room Sponsor).

Established in 1991, the Golf Classic has raised more than $1.8 million cumulatively in support of multiple services and programs at Doylestown Health, including the Cancer Institute, critical care, the Emergency Department, MRI services, the Wound Care Center, and the VIA Maternity Center.

This year, a portion of the Golf Classic proceeds supported the Teen Volunteer Scholarship fund, which honors a teen volunteer who has donated the greatest number of volunteer hours at Doylestown Hospital and demonstrated exceptional commitment to the volunteer program.

The 2023 Exemplary Teen Volunteer Scholarship was awarded to Carolyn Chung, a senior at Central Bucks East High School who contributed 371 volunteer hours to Doylestown Hospital’s Patient Transport department. Carolyn plans to major in Animal Sciences at the University of Wisconsin Madison.

Carolyn said she is grateful to have been given the opportunity to volunteer within her community and thankful for the scholarship that will allow her to finance a part of her future endeavors.
