Central Bucks Mourning Loss Of Student To Terminal Illness
The CB West student "was deeply supported and cared for" by the West community, said Interim Superintendent Dr. Charles Malone.
DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks School District is mourning the loss of one of its students, 18-year-old Owen McQuillan, who passed away on Monday following a battle with the genetic disorder, Neurofibromatosis.
Owen "was deeply supported and cared for" by the Central Bucks West community, said Interim Superintendent Dr. Charles Malone in a communication to district parents and students. "Our deepest sympathies are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time."
Just a few weeks ago, the CB West community honored Owen at a basketball game. "Owen and his family were overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support," a family friend wrote on a GoFundMe page set up for the family.

According to Malone, CB West students and families received a separate email from Principal Lyndell Davis sharing the news. He also said counselors from West are ready to support students, teachers, and staff who may need assistance.
Support will also be available as needed for teachers and staff members who knew Owen from his time at Tohickon Middle School and Pine Run Elementary School.
