Central Bucks Regional Awarded $162K Crime And Delinquency Grant
The funding will assist the department in upgrading its records management system.

DOYLESTOWN, PA —The Central Bucks Regional Police Department has been awarded a $162,467 NIBRS Compliance Grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
The funds will be used to upgrade the department’s records management system, storage, and capability to transition from Uniform Crime Reporting to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS).
“This funding will allow our department to upgrade our technology infrastructure to provide greater specificity in reporting statistics through NIBRS compliance,” said Chief Karl Knott. “We look forward to the benefit of maximizing our resources through actionable intelligence, more accurate analysis of crime, and data sharing across agencies to increase clearance rates.”

Brennan added, "I’m heartened by PCCD’s consistent efforts to make sure local police departments and organizations that provide services to victims have the funding they need to operate effectively. Since taking office, I’ve been working closely with law enforcement agencies across our region to learn what they need and use my position to pursue solutions. Programs like this that provide resources to municipal police forces and related agencies helps to lessen the burden on the PA State Police.”
The Central Bucks Regional Police Department, headquartered in Doylestown Borough, serves New Britain Borough, Chalfont Borough and Doyelstown Borough.
