Central Bucks School Board Hires New Superintendent

The Central Bucks School Board unanimously appointed John Kopicki as the next district superintendent during a meeting Tuesday.

The Central Bucks School Board unanimously appointed John Kopicki as the next district superintendent during a meeting Tuesday.

The contract with Kopicki begins July 1 of this year and goes through June 30, 2020.

Kopicki will begin at an annual salary of $210,000 and will be subject to an annual performance evaluation by the board, according to an employment agreement.

Under his employment agreement, he will get four weeks of vacation, 15 sick days and two personal days. He will also be reimbursed up to $7,500 for moving expenses.

The employment agreement with Kopicki was passed with little discussion.

Board President Beth Darcy offered a statement before the vote, saying the board took the process of hiring a new superintendent “very, very seriously.”

She said Mr. Kopicki has a “breadth of experience” and comes “highly recommended by peers everywhere he has served.”

Darcy said the board is “very confident in his ability.”

Kopicki, who was in the audience, thanked the board following the vote. He comes to Central Bucks from the Altoona Area School District.
