DOYLESTOWN, PA — All Central Bucks schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 19 due to the latest winter storm to hit the area. All after-school activities are also canceled. And the Before and After Care program will be closed on Friday..

Today's snow day will be made up on Wednesday, Jan. 24, which had originally been scheduled as a K-12 half day. This will allow the district's secondary schools to make up time lost to snow days in the first semester, according to acting superintendent Jim Scanlon.

The half-day will be moved to Friday, Jan. 26 for all students in grades K-12. The teaching staff will use that afternoon for professional development.

At this time, Scanlon said the district is not planning to make an additional adjustment to spring break based on today’s snow day. However, the school code requires that districts hold 180 days of school or an equivalent number of hours.

“If we end up with additional snow days we may need to make further adjustments to our calendar,” said Scanlon.
