Central Bucks Teacher Contributes To Library of Congress Student Guide

Chris Johnson's book will serve as a valuable resource to teachers across the nation.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Central Bucks High School East teacher Chris Johnson recently contributed to a new publication, "Finding, Analyzing, and Constructing History: A Research Guide for Students," published by the Library of Congress and National History Day.

The guide was developed as a part of the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Consortium. It is free and accessible to all students and teachers at www.nhd.org/library-congress-tps.

Johnson was selected in January 2021 and engaged in professional development sessions with the Library of Congress. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic in classrooms, he continued with the program to share knowledge, pedagogy, historical thinking skills with a broader teacher
audience.

According to Dr. Cathy Gorn, executive director of National History Day, "Mr. Johnson clearly demonstrates creative teaching methods to engage students with history and helps them make exciting discoveries about the past."
