Century-Old Tradition To Welcome The Holidays To Doylestown
For the 109th year, the community will gather Friday evening, Nov. 24 to light the town's tree at the intersection of State and Main.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Doylestown will gather this evening for a town tradition dating back more than a century.
The 109th Doylestown Tree Lighting ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at the intersection of State and Main in the heart of the borough.
Centered around a Nordman Fir, grown on the nearby fields of Buckingham Township by Bountiful Acres, the event promises to be a magical evening as the busy downtown corner in front of the historic 1758 Fountain House is transformed into a Norman Rockwell scene.

Staged by Discover Doylestown and the Borough of Doylestown and sponsored by McCaffrey's Simply Fresh, this year’s tree lighting will be emceed by Richard Curtis and will include music by the Bucks Country Gentlemen and the Central Bucks West Choir; special guest appearances by Princess Ana and Queen Else from Arendelle and the Grinch; and the official tree lighting by Santa himself.
A parade, ushering Santa and Mrs. Claus into town aboard a 1923 Ahrens-Fox antique fire engine owned by Doylestown Fire Company No. 1, will include BikeWorks, Bucks Bubble, State Rep. Tim Brennan, State Sen. Steve Santarsiero, Central Bucks West Track and Field, Action Karate, Ascend Dance, Nook Nook Music School, Moore Family Power Washing, Simplee U, Andrew Pearson, Girl Scouts, Main Street (you might know them as Pine2Pink, Bountiful Acres, SJR, Doylestown Borough Public Works and the Central Bucks West Marching Band.

Doylestown Dart will be running free shuttles from the parking garage up to the tree lighting ceremony starting at 5 p.m.
Coinciding with the Doylestown Tree Lighting, the Village Improvement Association will host a Holiday Flea Market from 6 to 9 p.m. at the James-Lorah Memorial Auditorium, 100 North Broad Street in Doylestown.
Proceeds will benefit the VIA’s Youth Scholarship program, which awards scholarships to deserving Central Bucks students.
On Saturday, everyone's invited back to downtown Doylestown for a day of shopping and supporting small business.
Small Business Saturday will include discount offers, unique and one-of-a-kind gifts, a festive holiday atmosphere and personalized service from friendly shop owners.
