Check Out Some of Doylestown's Most Admired Gardens at 20th Annual Tour

Seven homes and gardens throughout Doylestown and Buckingham Township will be showcased during the 20th annual Bucks Beautiful Kitchen and Garden Tour on Sept. 28.

The self-guided tour, to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine, is sponsored by the Bucks Beautiful organization. All proceeds from the tour will benefit the Bucks Beautiful Bucks for Bulbs, Garden Grant program and scholarships.

The properties on the tour feature a variety of architectural and landscape styles, with the kitchens and gardens being the main focus, organizers said.

“To celebrate our 20th Kitchen and Garden Tour, we wanted to go beyond the boundaries of historic Doylestown and raise the bar in a number of ways by branching out to Doylestown and Buckingham Townships with some wonderful houses,” said Carter van Dyke, Bucks Beautiful board member and event chairperson.

“We are also creating a lovely setting for local artists to demonstrate their craft the day of the event,” van Dyke said.

The tour will include Carousel Farm Lavender on Mechanicsville Road in Buckingham, which features a quaint guesthouse and private gardens.

A property owned by Charles Tweedy and his wife will be magically transformed into an artist’s studio, café and gift shop for the day, according to organizers. “Guests will be able to view the magnificent property, carriage house and working artist’s studio,” an event announcement said.

Additionally, vintage collectible cars will be parked at each location. “This year we have expanded our antique car display to include exotic show cars, which we’ve never had before,” van Dyke said.

Tickets for the 20th Annual Kitchen & Garden Tour are $35 and can be purchased at the Bucks Beautiful office, 85 E. State St. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
