Checks Bounced, The Warrant Didn't For NJ Man Accused Of Theft In Warrington

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A New Jersey man is facing felony charges for bilking a township fence company out of nearly $5,000 in purchases.

Adoph Biernacki, 49, of Paulsboro, New Jersey, surrendered to police on Tuesday on an outstanding arrest warrant. He was subsequently charged with theft by deception and receiving stolen property, both third-degree felonies. He has also been charged with writing bad checks.

On July 20, Warrington Police were called to County Line Fence to investigate a report of bad checks.

Officials with the company told police that on July 7 and 8, Biernacki made two purchases totaling $4,925.31 and took the merchandise with him. Five days later, on July 13, police said County Line Fence was notified by its bank that both checks had been written on a closed account.

The business contacted Biernacki and allowed him to either return the merchandise or pay the $4,925.31 owed, police said.

Despite numerous attempts by the business and police to resolve the matter, Biernacki failed to return the merchandise or make payment.

A warrant was subsequently issued for Biernacki's arrest. On August 11, he was processed and arraigned by Judge Wertman, who set bail at $50,000 unsecured.
