Vehicle Theft, Stolen Checks, Domestic Calls Reported In Plumstead
In other reports, police investigated several incidents of fraud and arrested a man on an out of county warrant.
PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrest between May 7 and May 12:
May 7
- At 8:29 a.m., officers responded to Airport Boulevard for a vehicle theft. When officers arrived they met with a man who said his company had towed a car to a lot for another police department. Sometime between 2 and 3:30 a.m., he told police that someone entered the lot and removed the truck without paying the tow bill. The lot is marked private property and no trespassing is allowed, the man told police. The case remains open.
- At 2:36 p.m., a woman told police that her ex-boyfriend came to pick up some belongings and while doing so took the keys to her car after she told him not to. She told police that tried unsuccessfully to call and ask him to return the car. Officers also tried to contact the ex-boyfriend, but they were also unable to reach him. The officer informed the woman to contact police if she wants to press charges.
- At 3:45 p.m., a Plumstead woman reported an incident of fraud. The woman told police that someone had opened a bank account in her name. The woman contacted the bank to report the incident and told police that she had filled out an identity theft report online. The woman was provided with a victim’s right packet.
- At 7:27 p.m., a Plumstead resident called to file a theft report. She told police that while she was parked at the Cross Keys Place Shopping Center someone stole two checks totaling $1100 and dentures valued at $1200 from her car. Officers emailed the complainant a crimes victim packet. The officers are reviewing surveillance cameras. The case remains under investigation.

- At 8:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to Easton Road for a domestic in progress. When officers arrived, they found a man yelling in the direction of an adult female and two juveniles who were visibly upset. Officers talked to both parties separately and confirmed that there was no physical altercation. Officers were able to de-escalate the situation and there were no further issues.
May 10
- At 12:50 p.m., a Plumstead resident reported an incident of fraud. The resident told police that she had received a phone call from an individual explaining that he was business that provides SAT prep material. She provided the individual with her credit card information and after they hung up, she received a call from her credit card company of a fraudulent charge of $249. The officer informed the complainant that if she had any additional information to call police back.
May 11

- At 8:16 a.m., officers were patrolling the area of Easton Road when a vehicle with an expired registration drove past. During a traffic stop, police said the driver was unable to provide the officer with a valid driver’s license. During an investigation, the officer discovered that the vehicle was not registered and the driver was driving on a suspended license and had an active arrest warrant. The officer arrested the 56-year-old man from Philadelphia for an out of county warrant.
May 12
- At 2:37 p.m., a Plumstead resident reported to officers that her wallet and $150 in cash was stolen from the Giant in Plumstead. The woman said she was shopping when two individuals approached her and continued following her around the store asking her distracting questions. When the woman went to check out she noticed that her wallet was missing. The store manager reviewed surveillance footage and found the two individuals in question. The incident is under investigation.
