Children's Author Brings Dog To Adorable Storytime At Doylestown Bookshop

The Doylestown Bookshop had a special children's story time over the weekend.

Author Lisa Papp brought her therapy dog to the local store on Saturday to read from her new children's book, "Madeline Finn and the Library Dog."

It's a story about a girl who gains confidence in her reading by reading to a therapy dog.

Kirkus Reviews says the book is "so adorable readers may attempt to hug the page."

Here's what the author has to say about reading to dogs:

"Dogs are masters at unconditional love. They accept the children for who they are, exactly as they are - no strings attached. And when a child senses that, their fears drop away, doors open, and forward momentum is natural. It’s a beautiful thing to watch and I hope this book shares some of that magic."
